Sponsoring Partner Information

Individuals and many types of organizations can become Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Sponsoring Partners. One-hundred percent of all partner sponsorships go directly to the Help the Homeless nonprofit Beneficiaries that provide services to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Levels of partnership are determined by the amount of the financial contribution.

The Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Program has selected a group of established service providers as Help the Homeless Program Beneficiary Organizations. These Beneficiaries raise funds for their organizations in by:

  • Recruiting youth and adult walkers for the Help the Homeless Walkathon on the National Mall.

  • Hosting Mini-Walks in partnership with schools, community-based organizations, and faith-based groups.

  • Recruiting donors and/or Sponsoring Partners to support their organization.

Sponsoring Partners support these Beneficiary Organizations in several important ways.

Committing sponsorship fees: Sponsoring Partners’ donations — along with incentive funds contributed by Fannie Mae and dollars raised through the Beneficiary Organizations’ other Help the Homeless activities — benefit the Beneficiaries efforts to serve homeless populations and raise awareness about homelessness.

Directing sponsorship donations to one or more specific Beneficiary Organization or to the Help the Homeless General Fund: Sponsorship donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by the law. Beneficiary Organizations that recruit Sponsoring Partners may also qualify for incentive awards.

Participating in the Walkathon: Many Sponsoring Partners recruit their employees, friends, and families to walk in the Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon on the National Mall. Beneficiary Organizations, through the Walker Recruitment Incentive Program, are eligible for additional funds if a certain number of participants walk on their behalf. Sponsoring Partners are also encouraged to visit Beneficiary Organizations, conduct additional fundraising activities, or raise pledges for the Beneficiary Organization(s) they select.

Sponsoring Partners receive the following benefits:

  • High visibility in the community and in promotional materials, including acknowledgment on the Partnering Sponsors page, posters, T-shirts, and banners

  • Inclusion in event day signage on National Mall

  • Knowledge that your sponsorship is making an impact on the fight to prevent and end homelessness.
